So, from my understanding and even the same being stickied here, I can register an AR-pistol as an AOW and then be able to put a VFG on it (but not a buttstock obviously). Correct?

If that's true, then I think I know what I'm doing for my 22LR or 9mm build. =)

yes i believe that is correct VG only and an AOW registration

A 5$ stamp for putting a forward grip on a low recoil AR-pistol would make a good hip-fire weapon. =)

If you buy a pre-made AOW, the stamp is $5. If you register/make an AOW yourself, the stamp is $200.

It would be better to register it as an SBR, which gives you the option of using a stock if you want to, but can run it as an AOW as well.

A lot of shotguns are registered as a SBS, but configured like an AOW...

Really? A self-made AOW is 200$ and not 5$? That I did not know. If that's the case screw it. Selling my pistol lower... I'll just stick to going SBR.
