I have a brand new Mossberg 500 Stainless 12 gauge, still in the box, which I bought many years ago. I always liked Mossberg's because they were always inexpensive. It's always nice to have a shotgun around.

I remember when I got hired on in my department, 20 years ago. Mossberg was one of the several shotguns that were authorized for carry (at deputy's own expense). Now, the only authorized shotgun for carry is the Remington 870. The 870 is a good weapon, but unfortunately it doesn't have the same price tag as a Mossberg.

I like the 870's also but as you said you can't beat the price tag of the Mossberg.

I think I will keep it. Although I can not use it for work, it is still something good to have around.
