I'm most of us have done this once in their lifetime and specially in states that still have vast lands.

When I was much younger, my friends and I used to go shooting to isolate areas and those where some fun days.
Rapid fire all we want.
Shoot at what ever we brought.
No range master.
and
From what ever position you wanted.

Some of us are not linked to law enforcement or the military, access to a tactital range is difficult and expensive.
Recently I've contenplated the idea to re-visit my foolish early days but with hind sight it has it's drawbacks.
Do any of you have an alternative?
Is there such a place?

Osceola National Forest and Ocala National Forest both have free ranges. If it isn't an organized night (i.e. FLDCC) then you're usually alone from what I hear.

Maybe you can look South/Southwest of Live Oak for some very open land. And then there are a few large properties in central Florida that are privately owned which allows people to come shoot on.

Sadly, Florida doesn't have the large patches of desert where you can drive out and find a nice spot with some dunes and have at it.

I have a very close friend that has 5500 acres in Clewiston (Devil's Garden) but it is strickly hunting grounds since he is an outfitter/guide. I guess he would not mind off season and it is about a 2 hour drive from Dade County.
