Looks like a folding stock though...

Savage just dumped a ton of their rifles on the distributors... so the chances of getting one now are pretty good.

I'm not sure on the stock either.
Who makes that stock? What type of bedding? What glass are you planing to use on it?

You can't go wrong with a savage action. Nice looking rifle

Savage follows up it’s very successful 2009 launch of the radical Model 10 BAS-K and 10 BAT/S-K with yet another BA in 2010. The new 110 BA is chambered in .338 Lapua or .300 Win. Mag., extending the range of these great precision rifles. The BA’s modular platform is built around an aluminum stock that features Savage’s innovative three-dimensional bedding system. Butstocks and pistol grips are easily interchanged and a three-sided accessory rail adds versatility. The 110 BA features a 5-round detachable magazine, high-efficiency muzzlebrake and a Magpul PRS adjustable stock.

on the front page of savage arms.com they talk about their bedding process with a little vid

The problem with the .338 Lapua is cost vs. performance. You can in fact shoot the .50 BMG cheaper due to the fact the .50 is a mil-surp round, and the .338 Lapua is a highly specialized oddball. And a very expensive one at that. Price .338 Lapua brass and you'll quickly see what I mean.

I'm not knocking the round, it's a hell of a performer, it's just from a cost to performance standpoint you're far better off going with the .300 Win. Mag. Longer barrel life. Cheaper to shoot by at least a 3 to 1 margin. Very accurate and extremely easy to handload for. And has an effective range longer than 90% of the shooters who shoot it.

I've seen a lot of used .338 Lapua rifles for sale with less than 100 rounds through them. There is a reason for that. Ammo, as well as components are hard to find, and when you do you are going to spend a fortune for them. I set up a .338-378 Weatherby Magnum some years back. As expensive as Weatherby is, it is cheaper, and far more available than the it's Lapua counterpart. In fact if you check the newer reloading manuals the .338-378 Weatherby Magnum bests the Lapua in both velocity and energy. It just doesn't have the "tacticool" look.

I just picked up this Kimber 8400 L.A. Police Tactical last week in .300 Win. Mag. The rifles comes from the box with a trued up bolt face, glass bedding, Match Grade chamber, and a hand lapped barrel. I'm going with a Leupold Mark IV 16X for glass. The factory supplied and mounted rail has a 20 MOA taper built in. I can't wait to get this baby up and running. It will be my 3rd .300 Win. Mag., and most likely not my last. Bill T.

I picked up this Savage 110 FCP-K just a few months back. I believe they discontinued it, and now only offer the .300 Win. Mag. in the BA Model in their tactical rifle line up. That's a shame because the FCP-K is far more appealing to a larger amount of shooters. Some feel, (and I'm one of them), the BA BAT/S-K series is just too radical of a look and design. The gun will supply a very small niche market at best. The FCP-K was far more traditional looking, and came with the excellent Accutrigger and Accustock as well as a muzzle brake as standard equipment. Mine will go into one ragged hole for as long as I sit there and do my part. I'm glad I got it when I did. Bill T.

I think if Savage could put out a .50 BMG repeater, and beat the Armalite AR-50 in price, they would sell boxcars of them. Especially if they produced enough of them so they would be available anywhere. If anyone could put out an economically viable .50 BMG, Savage could. Bushmasters BA-50 is selling like hotcakes at $5 grand a pop. Bill T.
