It would be simpler but our political system will never do things the easiest, smartest, most cost effective, or even the most sensible way. Until the gaggle of lawless supporters are placed in situations that could show them a different prospective they will simply do their best to impose their will on us. I would like to add that while I said political system, its more than just them, and the people that support them and they pussified ideas are what keeps them in public offices.

In our country the criminal wouldn't be dumb enough to just sit on the window seal like that because we'd just call in the SWAT to snipe him.

That is very true... we wouldn't shoot him unless he started going ape-shit and pointed a weapon at the kid. We would sit there for hours and waste tons of money.

As fucked up and morally bankrupt as we have become, I still would not want to live and be a citizen of anywhere else.

we would rehabilitate the poor soul and spend hundreds of thousands on the best mental care and housing for that peace of shit.. only later to release him back into the general population to repeat the cycle..

They keep pushing us further and further against the wall and we're going, "Well, at least it's still the nicest country to live in in the world!" We should be saying, "Fuck you, this is the greatest country in the world and we, the people, are going to keep it that way."

I agree with Satan kind of. We're allowing shit to go downhill and we have to put our foot down more or we'll end up the worst place to live and nothing but a joke about freedom.

Right now Australia is doing better than us as far as society goes... but their gun laws suck. Change those laws and I'd be there.
