Ok, so as I said in the other thread, I need to get a new duplicate of my drivers license with my new address. Well I tried to get one online and the DMV said I have not registered for selective service and any transaction will automatically register me.

Well guess what? I haven't registered for a damn good reason, and I don't want to either. My question is this... If its "the law" and I'm 22, how come they haven't come after me for not registering yet? Do I really have to? And if not How can I get my new license with out registering?

I'm only asking you guys because a lot of you know your laws.

Because nothing is worth dying for IMO. You only get one life. I'd rather spend it somewhere else if I had no other choice. I guess you could call me selfish or whatever, but If there was ever another draft, I really could not see myself going. I mean, WWII I believe had a good cause, but I don't think any war since then was worth it. To many people died unnecessarily.

I'm sure most would not agree with me on this forum, but to each their own. I simply want to live my life. I prefer to sign up for as few government related programs as possible. I was even debating with myself for the longest time if I should get my concealed weapons permit or not, due to all the paper work and information you have to send out. Specifically finger prints, but I feel you should take YOUR life into your own hands. So I think people should have guns to protect their lives at any cost. That may seem like a warped view that I would agree with defending my life with my own gun, but not the lives of my country and loved ones by picking up a gun of the military, but I just don't really care to much to be a part of anything. I'd honestly rather go into the woods somewhere with my AR15, if the shit ever hit the fan, and chill. Maybe even Canada? I hear the moose are very friendly.

Still would like an answer to my question though, please.

Ah you know what? Fuck it. I'll just register so they'll shut up. It's not like I'd go anyways. :) I'll just go to Canada like a "coward" that has no "honor" for his country. Damn us young kids and our ignorance. ;)

I registered in high school and got it out of the way. You'd rather go young than go old.

Ok, I did it. Bought my new duplicate ID. I guess I'm registered. I'm just a crazy conspiracy theorist that wears tin foil hats. ;)

Yh I was registered as soon as I was legally able. I don't see the issue with it. I don't believe the country would enact a draft unless it was absolutely necessary. In that case I would gladly defend the country's border.

If anyone ever came in to our mainland you wouldn't have to draft me, but I wouldn't want to unwillingly go to another country and fight a war.
