So I signed up for college. I am going for a degree in Electrical Engineering. I am very impulsive and random. It went from law enforcement, to music recording, to this all in about a week, but I finally settled on a plan and am in the process of executing it. With this degree I can do about a million different jobs including jobs in the music industry. Especially if I minor in Audio/Video as well.

Congrats... about time you started making some decisions and stopped dreaming of starting a band and making it big so you didn't have to work hard at a real job.
Education is very important in today's workforce. I went back to school in October of last year to obtain an MBA with a specialization in marketing. It sucks big time but I know it will pay off in the end. I was up last night till 1am writing papers and up today at 6 to go to work. Last week I was up till 3am doing school work and then up at 6am for work.
No matter how hard it gets, push through. Engineering is tough but if you want it, you can get it. I went for mechanical engineering at first then switched to Biology/premed. So now I have a bachelors in Biology with a premed focus and I am getting a masters in business. Not sure how that all came about but I am here.

good luck
the first step for you.....memorize ohm's law. Just google it, that should help you through most of your problems in your first year. You also could buy yourself an ugly's electrical reference book. Also a great resource and handy pocket guide with nearly all the equations and fundamental laws in a small package.

I know a little electrical from studying sound engineering. It's all quite related. Electricity and sound behave in comparable ways and use similar forms of measurement.

Music is still my "dream." If other idiots can make it, so can I. But I appreciate the encouragement.

Ironic althoug the timing is wrong I know a job opening for just that at the moment with a very good company at a semi start up location.
Follow through and keep your head in it, good luck and dont take a toaster in a cast iron tub.

This, and if you haven't gone through any pre-recs already then just be prepared for the math involved. I'm not sure on Electrical, but for ME I had to do Calc 1-3 and Differential equations. None of it is impossible but they can seem very pointless and draining at times especially considering you wont use a whole lot of it when its all said an done, so you just gotta keep at it.
Good Luck

For my bio degree I had to take calc 1 and 2. Uggg that sucked. Cant imagine calc 3 and diff equations

The guy that is kind of mentoring me and encouraging me to go for the engineering degree is suggesting that, on top of the general ed courses in the program, I add some chemistry and trigonometry classes as well. He would know though, because he's a master engineer, has over 50 patents with General Electric, and has ran sound in the music industry for bands such as Rush and Queen. The guy is a genius, and I feel inclined to follow his recommendations.
