So I was looking at a Remington 22LR on Bud's and it said it held 10+1 and held 8 magnum rounds. Is that true? Can you shoot magnum out of some or all normal 22's?

I might be wrong but I've never heard of any firearm that shoots .22 LR & also .22 Magnum.

The Magnum cartrige is almost twice as long as an LR's cartrige, so the only possible way and not recomended would be shoot LR ammo thru a Magnum rifle. Keep in mind that it is always recomended to only use the ammo which a firearm was designed for.

Well I've seen some that shoot both .22LR and .22 Short. So I suppose it could be possible if it was a magnum rifle as Max stated.

Yea I think it's just a misprint on Bud's. I looked up the gun on Remington and it did'nt say ne thing bout it.

Back in the days .22 magnum was the common in between caliber from a .22LR and a high power rifle like a .223.

Now there are a little more choices like the .17 HM2, .17 HMR & the 5.7 but the .22 magnum is still more affordable for plinking and the rifle selection is wider.

I have a NAA mini-mag that converts from .22 win mag to .22 LR by swapping the cylinders. As was stated, the OAL of the .22 mag is significantly larger; however, the case diameter is also larger as the brass is thicker and crimped at the "neck". I would not fire a .22 LR in my .22 mag cylinder and it would probably cause an unsafe situation as the rim would not seat properly. The bore is the same, so if there is a way to change the chamber on this Remington with either a barrel swap or some sort of modular chamber and it isn't a semi auto where recoil, etc would mean different springs and bolt mass, then I guess it could be possible.
