You need to create a trust. Stil trying to convince someone to let me see their trust (obviously with personally information deleted) so that I can save the $200 to pay a lwayer to do it for me :)

That is one of the guns on my list as well

Andy B on the forum can set up the trust from you. KGB Armament is the company name.

Lino, I'm also in the same boat as you. I'm also looking for ways that I can avoid a lawyer's fee on the write up. If you want I'll keep you posted on anything that I come accross with.

Is this piece yours already?

I've heard mixed reviews on this handgun and also read that you have to find the right ammo since:
1) Due to the short barrel, regular .22LR will break the sound barrier.
2) Sub-sonic ammo does not have enough energy to make the action reload.

If what I heard is not correct, please chime in.

Have you already decided on the can?

not in my hands yet.. waiting for FFL to recv.. Not sure what can, maybe YHM..

I had many questions to the original owner.. said no ammo issues, and the feed ramp was polished.. not sure about the sub-sonic yet.. when I get it, let go test it

Keep me in the loop with what you find M@D M@X

The shorter the barrel the better. If you get a long barrel is will go super sonic. Reducing length gives the propellant less time to speed up the bullet before it leaves the barrel. Running a 3.5" barrel or less with a pistol suppressor will stay quiet. Running 5.5" barrel or less with a rifle suppressor will let you run most regular 22LR all day.

Running 40gr is better than 32/36gr because the higher weight keeps the bullet subsonic. Also, a bullet does continue to speed up to a certain distance once it leaves the barrel. So the weapon could run silent but you still hear the sonic crack as the round goes down range. This is more frequent in rifle calibers than it is in pistol & rimfire calibers though.

You could try to get a tax stamp as an individual, but good luck in South Florida. I doubt the CLEO is going to sign off on anyone. A trust or corporation is needed to apply for stamps without the need for fingerprints, photographs, or LEO sign offs.

A decent trust is the easiest to work with because it is flexible and doesn't require monthly/yearly fees to keep going. But if you don't want to risk losing your weapons, you need a good trust that has specific verbiage for dealing with firearms and how to disperse them legally under survivorship. You also need to make sure there are articles within the trust that make it flexible to change in the future. Many trusts don't address this and cannot be legally modified when laws change. This puts you and your weapons at risk as well.

Chris,
Thx for chiming in and clarifying the short barrel remark.

I've also heard that the trust is the way to go. Tomorrow I'll contact an old friend that has more knowledge on this matter.
