Hey guys, I was just wondering what the best website would be to order a laser bore-sight for a .40 S&W. I know many of you have certain websites you shop from that have deals, so I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.

Cool thanks. Yeah I want to use it to set up my Crimson Trace.
Am I right in thinking I could roll a target out about 25 yards with the bore sight in and just set the Crimson Trace to touch the laser of the bore sight? That makes sense right?

thats exactly how you do it, though you may want something more like this
http://www.aimshot.com/boresight.php
the long stem on the more conventional boresight will be to long and will not seat properly in a SC's barrel

So that's like a sleeve that goes over it? I was looking at a couple pages from that link and was a bit confused.
just get the regualr laserlyte then you can do multiple calibers and be able to bore sight other guns also. I have both sizes of the bore sighters. Make sure to get the shorty to do that new sub-compact though.

I would use the Aimshot that Chris posted. It seats in the chamber for proper alignment (as long as you use the correct size arbor) and doesn't care about barrel length.
Check Opticsplanet.net for some decent prices. Shipping can be slow, but the prices are low. (They have good feedback on pricegrabber and froogle as well)
I've bought a ton of stuff on Optics Planet. They have a crappy notification system, but they are cheap and dependable. Personally, I think 25yrds is waaaaay too far for a Crimson Trace set up. You'd probably never see the laser at an outdoor range in the daytime at 25 yrds. I'd zero it in to the farthest you could accurately identify a threat in the dark in the largest area of your house. Generally 25 feet is what I suggest.

It's not for my house though. It's my carry gun. At night time I think 25 yards could be useful. I can shoot 25 yards with the iron sights accurately at the range. I am not sure I understand your reasoning. Wouldn't the laser be more useful in a night assault anyways?
IMHO, the laser is an aid to point shooting in low light conditions. At 75' in low light, I personally can not guarantee I am going to properly identify a threat and be certain what is beyond the potential threat. If there is a 90% chance my engagement will be within 25', I'd want to zero for that. At 75', my first response will either be to exit the situation or find cover if practical at that distance.

Ah, I see. This will have to be contemplated.

4-5" barrels I would say you are good sighting it for 50-75 feet. But if this is your new sub-compact, then I would say go with C3PO's suggestion.
