I'm looking at getting an auto shotty for the house and possibly getting into 3-gun in the future.
My list has narrowed pretty quickly to the Mossberg 930 SP series pretty quickly. Anyone have or had one in the past? I've heard it has a little more shoulder bite than a typical pump gun, but that the reliability and durability are top notch. Hoping a couple here can vouch for that before I decide to move forward and start shopping around for one.
Reason for the Mossberg is that I can't afford to get an FN SLP (or its Winchester SX3 clone) like I would want. But the Special Purpose series of the 930 also has dual gas ports, decent capacity, and available in the 18" barrel range.
One of the additional reasons for it being an auto shotty is so the woman doesn't have to worry about pumping it if she wants/needs to use it. I was tempted to step down to a 20ga auto to make it softer to shoot, but I would rather keep the damage potential of 12ga.
Thoughts and feedback are appreciated.
