Thanks to forum members like Spikes40, I have decided to turn my Colt 6450 preban into a SBR. However, I have to sell the
9mm Colt upper with a 16" barrel to afford the new shorter upper. If I can't sell it, I will just have it cut down by ADCO. This is the least expensive way to go. It would cost about $115 to have the barrel cut and threaded to 10.5" and the hand guards will still fit.

My new question is this: The Chief LEO for Palm Beach County is Sheriff Ric Bradshaw. How does one get him to sign the papers? Do you make an appointment, just send it to him in a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope)? Can I get my finger prints done at the same time or is that another appointment issue?

I am establishing a NFA trust via a law firm. Don't really want to spend the cash, but it seems to be the safest option. A normal revocable trust does not have provisions for transfer and will not protect your heirs. I don't know if I will sell my upper to buy a new one or cut mine down-using ADCO. I will document my progress.
