I have been doing some reading and some have said to replace ALL screws that come with the GSG-5 with better galventized screws, hex screws, or even bolt screws (with the square head). Also to blue locktite all screws
The locktite I whole heartedly agree with but what about the replacement of the screws..looking for chris or phil maybe to chime in
Are the ones in there pretty cheap now? I agree with the square or hex head drive though.

Im still using the stock screws until I have an issue. From what I have seen its a backing out issue or just poor metal that gets deformed from removal etc. Personally if it doesnt serve a purpose like rails etc I prefer not to fix it if it aint broke. If I have one issue as mentioned above all the screws will be changed out but at this point I dont have a plan to chenge anything. Just keep an eye on your gun the first few times you use it.Also be careful with locktite. Sometimes it can be as much of a PITA as it is helpful

How far do you go when stripping it down? Seems like a PITA
I was checking out the pistol at the store and never realized it didn't use HK style locking pins. Since the pins are affordable and I've heard that real stocks can be used with modification, you should be able to use them or at least drill out the holes to the correct diameter to use them.

i saw that too..was thinking about it but drilling out the holes is not something i want to do myself
I guess the biggest concern would be that the cast alloy they use might not be as strong as the HK style sheet metal receivers and might crack with larger holes. I'll have to look at one in the box to see what the hole looks like without the stock on. A few months after the GSG's came out, I read a thread in ARFCOM regarding the original installation of a short threaded barrel for the Gemtech suppressor and there was something about needing to modify the screw for the foregrip. I'll have to read up on recent developments.

I have some info on the screw/stud in the foregrip. I had to deal with that on my build. As I have more time I will elaborate
