View Full Version : Sog Tac Auto Tanto Black Tini
Just picked this knife up tonight. Been waiting a while for it to come in. I was going to wait until next week to bring her home, but I was informed Phil had his on eye it. I guess hiding it back in the storage room didn't work out to well. Sorry Phil...IT'S MINE!!! LOL!!

SOG-TAC Auto (Tanto Black TiNi)
ST-04
Our customers have been asking for us to produce a tactical switchblade for years. But we waited... because we wanted to do something really special. The SOG-TAC is an invigorating new design that looks like nothing else. It is big but relatively slim and is specifically designed for action. Blade travel is definitely fast and once open it locks up like a floor safe. The machined 6061T6 hard-anodized aluminum is inset with G10 type textured inlays. There is also: a safety button that double locks the blade in the open/closed position, our reversible bayonet style clip and a practical tactical Tanto blade. We think it was well worth the wait!
Blade 3.5" x .125" Overall Length 8" Weight 3.8 oz. Edge Half Serrated Steel AUS-8 Handle Hard Anodized Aluminum Finish TiNi Includes Reversible pocket clip Price $175.00 (this is MSRP of course)

Holy Sh*t tell me you didnt pay anywhere near MSRP!
nice knife but damn
I got this from Guntech, you think I paid MSRP for it? Hell, I didn't even pay for it yet. They closed early and I only took it because Phil had his eye on it. Rich told me to take it the other day but I held off until I heard someone was eyeing my goods.

Even after I hid it in the back with the Walther you were still trying to get it. I am going to have to find a new hiding spot for my stuff.

yeah, like you pay MSRP.

Thats a good start to another gun either way......
No new guns until the "Megatron Project" is done.
That's unless some RR stripped lowers come in.
is that a full auto switchblade?
I think I'm taking a breather with buying more guns until my Rem 700 is finished. Rich actually sold my AR pistol lower as someone wanted to buy the whole gun that was on the wall so I'm going backwards!
is that a full auto switchblade?
It's an auto knife. I wouldn't call it a switchblade tho.

is it legal to have an auto knife? what would be a good price for one of these?
Yes, its legal to have one with a CCW permit. I think Guntech is selling them for $150 compared to the $175 MSRP. You can get cheaper knives of course, but I like the feel and the quality of the SOG knives. Don't buy a knife with a china made blade either.

I was actually in chinatown NY last month.. i went in looking to get an auto knife.. everyone thought I was a cop..:)
finally one lady who showed me some knives.. P O S.. one knife opened and was never able to close.. one was never able to open...

Now he knows. NY is the last place to look for stuff like that. Get the bread while you are there though.

This site is selling them for $100
I think I messed up the title on here when I copied and pasted. This is a 8" overall blade not the 6.75" like you posted Dave.
Yep, just measured mine, its 8" overall blade. I don't know the pricing on the tini ones. I don't set the pricing at the store Chris. I am just passing on what I know.
That site has some good pricing. The one like mine is $105.95.

Gotcha...the bigger one is definitely the way to go.
And yeah...that site does have good prices. Even the Microtechs are reasonably priced.
Thanks for holding out on me. I will be looking around on there some more for sure.
